I decided to make a Collage of some of my older pieces and combine them into one. I wanted to make it represent all that I have learnt so far as I find that they each represent me as a person.
I decided to use Gilbert and Georges style of work as they had a really interesting style which was well suited for a collage piece.
I started by getting all my old pieces and finding the best parts from them.
I put them together on a black background and started playing with various effects and adding coloured areas.
This was the first version.
I feel that this came somewhat well as it incorporates Gilbert and Georges styles somewhat well, however there are still rough cut areas which somewhat ruin the appearance of the piece. I also feel like the colours are too bright. What I like about the piece is that is how the individual pieces are positioned around the image.
I decided to make a darker version as I thought it would come out better.
I feel that the darker colours work much better and in general it makes it look more appealing.
